AC Milan striker Alvaro Morata believes his team could have won. If they had had five more minutes to play after drawing 2-2 with Torino in their Serie A opener on Saturday.
The Rossoneri fell two goals behind through an own goal by Malik Thio before Duvan Zapata added another for the visitors. With Morata igniting hopes in the 89th minute before substitute Noah Okafor levelled in the 90+5th minute.UFABET
Morata was disappointed his debut did not end in victory. But said that if the team had five minutes left they would have scored the winning goal.
“It’s not a great debut because we didn’t win and we wanted to communicate something.” Morata told Sky Sport Italia.
“I think it still sends a message because the team was almost defeated. But we came back. If we had five more minutes to play, we would have won.”
“However, we have to go back to Milanello and change our mindset because we need to win here.”
Morata spoke to Sky Italia after the game to try and assess what was a rollercoaster of a night both for him personally and for the team given. That he had a goal disallowed and drew a penalty that was overturned. With his comments relayed by MilanNews.
“It’s not a great debut because we drew. But we sent a message, a team that was practically dead caught up. And if it had lasted five minutes more we would have won.” he said.
